Advert coursework 1 help sheet

                                                 The denotation and connotation
 The model is standing in a way to show that she has everythimg especially the male attention,Her facial expressions are passionate,Both models are in front of green screen.The story line of this perfume 'Gucci Guilty' is that if you buy this perfume you will get the male attention.There's no costumes but there are two nude models to attract some attention.However there isn't any props this shows that the models are enough to encourage you to buy the perfume.The colours used are black and white for a passionate effect.The name of the   product is 'Gucci Guilty' The perfume represents the name because the more women buys it the more attention they get from the male.There is not a slogan its a straight up women's perfume.Its a normal font with cerif for effect.The camera shot is a close up,and the angle is straight in the face.


                                                      Target audience profile
The product is aimed at the female audience,aged between 18-30.These women must have successful jobs which are highly paid,also must be classy women.Their social class must be upper class and middle class.Their lifestyle must be fancy like celebrities,must live in apartments shop at designer brand clothes and also eat at fancy expensive restaurants,An example of food they might eat is 'Caviare'.The demographic target group is YUPPIE because this perfume is sort of expensive and affordable for those who are in the target group.




                                                             Advert appeal
 Both models look attractive,they have no spots or freckles,and the man didn't shave to show that he's manly.The perfume 'Gucci Guilty' is using the snob appeal.This advert is a snob appeal beacuse this campaign is classy and for upper class people.




                                                Representation of Gender
Men and women are shown as 'sex symbols' because in the advert campaign you can see both models have passion for each other.Their body positions are in a sexual way to give romantic effect.Both models facial expressions are direct eye contact by the female and male is concentrating on her instead of the audience this shows that they are trying to say that if women use this perfume men will be  very attracted to them.The roles in this campaign is that the lady is giving direct mode of address to the audience to show off the attention she's getting and the man's closing his eyes to show the attraction he has for her.In this campaign the lady has more control of position than the guy this shows that if you buy this perfume females can control the men because the men are very attracted to the perfume.'Gucci Guilty' is unconventional but still stereotypical because its trying to say that the only way women can get attention from men is by buying this perfume,and it shows how men can be used just by the smell of a lady this still shows that this perfume is used as a 'sex symbol' because they are trying to say that the only way you can get love and passion from men is to smell good.The gender representation of goffmans theory is that women are shown as 'sex symbols' and dismembered. The representation of gender in this advert campaign is dismemberment because the lady's parts of body are shown instead of her full body, this is only to sell products.women are shown as 'sex animals' in media also portrayed in a sexual and physical way to get attention. However men are shown in dominant positions.
